fffff....I'm not going to bother explaining this right now. If you really want to know, comment saying so.
I will say this, though. It just started out with the girl, drawn in wonky 3-point perspective, so I tried to draw a 3-point perspective shape for a background so she wouldn't look so weird. I then decided it should be an elevator, then that an elevator would look idiotic if one side was open, so I made it more of a cage. The glass came in when I decided there should be a GIANT CEPHALOPOD (which is enough to merit a caps lock) trying to hug/engulf/devour the rickety little cage/elevator.
No Willy Wonka involved.
Spent maybe 2 or three hours coloring...I kinda like this style.
